Focalpoint imports handmade items from Tunisia in North Africa. Tunisia has long and varied links with the great civilizations of history including the Carthaginians, Romans, Berbers, Arabs and the Ottomans, Spanish and French.
Principles Jane Tryon and Mourad Nafti set up their business ‘Focalpoint’ in recognition of their fascination for the ancient traditions of art in Tunisia.
They are attentive to the long term development and preservation of the traditional arts .We are supporting the Tunisian Artisans by buying from them directly. If there is no market for the products the artists must find other employment and cease their craft. ‘Focalpoint’ encourages the preservation of the traditional skills by finding new markets for the products. This will have a long term effect of encouraging long term employment.
At the moment there is such a wide choice of products that suit everything from children’s bedrooms, to living rooms, to apartment living.
